John Craig John Craig

Based on his public and private sector experience in the transportation industry, former NDOT Director John Craig discusses different aspects of leadership followed by group discussion. Mr. Craig's talking points include: defining leadership, the people who can become leaders, and the characteristics of good leaders. Broadly speaking, these aspects can be divided into the leadership of people and leadership of things (i.e., getting results). Two key aspects of leading people receive additional attention: trust and collaboration. Although viewed from a transportation perspective, these aspects can be applied to any venue.
